DR’s theory of change focuses on promoting thought leadership for critical thinking and questioning of caste and patriarchal values. Empowering youths and social activists to question caste and patriarchal norms of Nepal’s governing institutions and its agents can help create an enabling environment for democratic institutional norms.

Therefore, DR works to mentor aspiring Dalit and non-Dalit people as well as women and men who are social activists, to improve critical thinking, creative writing, and smart presentation skills. It provides them training on critical thinking, designing and applying empowering methodology for the knowledge generation, and participating in public discussion forums fearlessly.

Finally, DR aims to come up with a DR pedagogy and methodology for exploring Dalit history, knowledge, art, and economy that empowers those at the bottom of Nepal’s social hierarchy
